Established in 1995, the College of Political, Administrative, and Communication Sciences (FSPAC) at Babeș-Bolyai University currently provides undergraduate study programs, master’s programs, and PhD studies in the fields of Political Science, Public Administration and Management, Communication Sciences, Advertising, Journalism & Digital Media, and Public Health.

FSPAC collaborates with esteemed universities in the Euro-Atlantic region, marking itself as a distinctive institution in the Romanian educational sphere.

PhD Study Programs

The doctoral school’s primary mission is to develop an interdisciplinary scientific research framework focusing on political and communication sciences and sound social research methodology. The school benefits from the support and involvement of all members of the Department of Political Sciences and the Department of Journalism and Digital Media, as well as of the Center for the Study of Democracy, the Center for the Comparative Study of Migration, the Research Center of Media Systems and Languages, and the Media Center. The Doctoral School of Political and Communication Sciences has an active role in the national and international academic community by engaging in academic and policy research on topics that include political communication; media and cultural identity; emerging trends in the digital media industry; participative democracy; interactive narratives in digital games; electoral studies and voting behaviour; communication of political regimes through mass media; crisis communication management; content and semiotic analysis of visual representations; media representations of cultural identities.
